Co-founder and creative director of Arctic Explorer
Ksenia, daughter of Artur Chilingarov – a famous Arctic explorer, Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation. After graduating from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (faculty of journalism), she has been successfully working with such publishing houses as Conde Nast, Independent Media, Hearst Shkulev Media for more than 10 years.
Launching her own brand, Ksenia was inspired by her father’s achievements and research, as well as by traditions of the Russian north and her passion for fashion. The idea to build Russian outerwear brand came to Ksenia after traveling to the North Pole. That trip totally changed her life. She decided to combine national technologies of arctic clothes production with a unique urbanistic design.
‘Our audience is people who love adventure and appreciate the DNA of the brand, which is displayed in the logo: it's an icebreaker – a peaceful ship. In English, it has two meanings. First – paving a way. And second – breaking the ice between people, getting closer to each other’.
